 Alternatives to Office Hours

Facilitator: Professor Julia Hartmann, Mathematics
Convener: Thomas Brazelton, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Mathematics

How can we use office hour time effectively? How can we help students to feel less stressed about their homework? How can we create an atmosphere where all students feel encouraged to attend and ask questions? Can we help students help each other?

During the meeting we will discuss these and other questions and share experiences and ideas for how to make creative use of the joint time that students and instructors spend outside of the classroom.

All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Mathematics department and so may be most useful to students in related fields.Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
