Helping Students Develop Skills for Success in College

Convener: Naomi Zucker, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Anthropology

What does it mean to succeed in college, and how can we support our students in developing the skills for success? In this workshop, we will focus on what we as instructors can do to help our students meet their personal and academic goals, in our own classrooms and in their broader experiences at Penn. Thinking together about our students’ diverse backgrounds and the challenges they may face in adjusting to college, we will discuss practical strategies to help students manage their time and workloads; read, write, and study more effectively; and take advantage of available resources and support systems.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate. Also counts as a follow-up workshop for SAS participants in TA Training.
