Helping Students to Develop Skills for Success in College

Convener: Alex Miller, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Operations, Information & Decisions

Success in college can mean many different things. In this workshop, we will discuss the many ways you can help your students adapt, learn, and grow in your class, which can hopefully carry over to their larger experience at Penn. We will cover how to encourage your students to manage their workloads effectively, use motiviation productively, and communicate with their instructors. Not surprisingly, reachng the students that need this help most begins with your own communication. We will go over a few discussions that you can facilitate in your instruction that will help studetns succeed academically and personally on campus.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate. Also counts as a follow-up workshop for SAS participants in TA Training.
