Inclusive Teaching Strategies: Supporting Students with Disabilities

Facilitator: Abigail Dym, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Political Science
Convener: Aaron Spector, Director of Disability Services, Weingarten Center and Kate Molloy, Disability Specialist, Weingarten Center

National surveys estimate that nearly 20% of college students identify as a person with a disability. Instructors preparing to teach college courses want to better understand this population and to develop effective instructional methods that are inclusive of students with disabilities. This workshop will explore the role of Disability Services as a resource for students and instructors and share tips and strategies for designing a disability-inclusive classroom.

All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Political Science department and so may be most useful to students in related fields.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
