Teaching with Film and Video

Convener: Elizabeth Bynum, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Music

What can video do for you? In this workshop, we will answer that question by exploring the multiple educational uses of video in our teaching. Participants will discuss the different roles that video can play in our courses, and consider how to use this technology to foster student interactions. We will foreground questions of sourcing and contextualizing videos for instructional purposes, as well as ethical concerns that may arise when using video material. Together, we will develop frameworks for effectively selecting and employing video of various kinds in our teaching.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
