In the coming academic year, Penn instructors will have access to two tools that can streamline the process of administering, grading and providing feedback on quizzes and exams. Canvas offers a new online quizzing tool called New Quizzes, which features new question types and grading functionality, better supporting scientific, mathematical or technical content. In addition, Penn is continuing the use of Gradescope, which provides options for grading both in-person and online assessments, including processes for developing rubrics, reusable feedback, and automated grading tools. In this tools-focused session, CETLI staff will show how these tools work for different testing situations as well as how they support different question types, feedback aims and grading needs.
