How can we enable students to engage meaningfully with the subject matter in courses outside their primary areas of academic interest? How can we balance the educational needs of both majors and non-majors in the classroom? In this workshop, we will discuss strategies to help students from diverse academic backgrounds find a stake and participate fully in classes outside the coursework associated with their majors. Participants will engage with approaches to teaching and assessment that are oriented towards students with varying academic interests and experience levels.
